The circumstances of.the timet laving induced him to publish the three parts of his System out of their natural order. he has supplied at the end of this work what was wanting to the beginning of the De Cive. The first chapter consists of a few very general remarks on the origin, nutrition, di solution, and generation of man; and concludes with this reflection--that whoever has a thorough insight into all the contrivances of Generation and Nutrition, and does not see that they were ordained and arranged by some Intelligence, each for its proper function, is himself to be deemed unintelligent.
