It is said to be bad luck gifting a wallet or purse without some money inside and this absolute fact also applies to eReaders would you believe!

If you are giving an eReader this Christmas don't get hounded by years of bad luck. Simply get on board to borders.com.au and sidestep seven years of bad quality entertainment with this process of gifting eBooks.

If the gift recipient already has an account, you can sign-in to their account with them and then purchase the eBooks. If they do not have an account with us then process should help to maintain the surprise.

1) Create an account for the gift recipient. If you have an account with us then use another email address that you have access to. If you use the gift recipient's email address then all purchase confirmation emails will be sent to that email address and your surprise will be ruined! You can change the account to the email address of the gift recipient at a later time and you will only be temporarily using your other email.

2) Buy the eBooks. The email purchase confirmation messages will go to you and not the gift recipient. You can access these eBooks via the free Borders eReading applications.

3) Print out the appropriate online guide for the gift recipient to assist with the process off beginning to use your Borders eBooks.

4) When you present the eBooks (or perhaps the eReader), you will need to change the account with the gifted eBooks to the gift recipient's email address.
To do this, simply visit our website at http://www.borders.com.au and sign-in using the option at the top of the page. Once you have signed-in you can click on the 'My Account' option at the top of the page and you can then click on 'EDIT PROFILE' to begin modifying the email address and also the password.

5) Whilst signed-in to your account, remember to remove any credit card details by clicking upon the 'Payment Details' option in the left sidebar and then selecting any stored credit card details and then clicking upon the 'Remove the card' option.
