I've had this ereader for a year and as I often tell people it is the best thing I have ever purchased myself. The touch screen is very responsive - you can set it so page turning is a swipe of your finger pretty much the same as reading a normal book. Dictionary feature is fantastic; don't know a word - just double tap it and up comes the dictionary. I think it has frozen on me maybe 3 times in total, but you just hit reset and away you go again (still retains all your bookmarks). The screen has more glare than it's non-touch screen counter parts, but is easy to angle to remove glare. Over all highly rate this ereader.02/12/2010
This is my first ereader and I love it. It's very nice to hold, an elegant design and extremely easy to use. Pages turn very quickly, and I really like the note-taking feature and touch screen. The dictionaries are very handy, as is the search function. I don't care that it doesn't have wi-fi because you have to connect to the PC to charge it so I do that at the same time as getting a new ebook. The battery seems pretty good, having lasted 3 weeks without charging. Am really pleased with this item!!20/09/2010
Way superior to the Kobo, which freeze a few times a day with very short battery life. PDF reading is realistically useable. MP3 playing at 320bps can at times of troublesome. Very good screen and very fast processor compared to even the Havon N526. Dictionary is good and memory is expandable. It seems you must install the Sony software to start using Adobe Digital Editions even if you don't intend to use the Sony software.21/09/2010
This reader is indeed far superior to the Kobo, and is highly responsive to touch. Thanks to a high powered processor, screen refresh is very quick - much faster compared to the Kobo. It also wakes up from sleep mode quicker. The contrast is crisp, and very sharp which is a pleasure to read. All in all, an excellent reader from Sony.28/09/2010
Freezes periodically -- letting it set for a while usually clears it up; ocassionally have to reset it. Battery NOT user replaceable-has to be sent back to sony for a battery replacement. Cannot load it with both an epub and a secure pdf at the same time - whichever is the second to load, will not open27/10/2010
Overall a great reading device that is portable, easy to use and has many, many hidden suprises and delights. Fantastic!07/12/2010
Love Love the Sony touch, I had three tries with the KOBO and it kept failing me and I sent it back. I am so much happier it is a better to read format, holds more books and i would be lost without it, so if you think you want a kobo , dont pay the extra it is worth it!15/03/2011
Love it!03/10/2010
I have two 6 inch readers. Both of them has frequent intermittent problem of saying DRM issues upon switching on and reading a DRM controlled book. Then ALL you book's book marks, reading position and notes will be LOST and you have to switch off and switch on again. This can be avoided by never switching off the unit (or never let power management let it switch off itself). Sleep mode is OK. Another (minor) issue is when you unplug the USB, never touch it until it settles down. Otherwise it can easily hang.19/10/2010
I never EVER used to read before I got the sony ereader touch edition(red) for my birthday and now i can't stop reading!!! I love the red it's stylish and cool. This ereader is great for younger people cause it makes reading sort of cool!
