Synopsis

Continuing adventures of Zeke and Eppie ... Having defeated the virus, Zeke and Eppie finally escape their mother's body via her nose as, shall we say, snot in her sneeze. So enormous is this sneeze that it splatters all over the book their mother is reading and forces Zeke and Eppie into the pages. After being arrested by an exclamation mark they find themselves in Storyland where they encounter not only characters they have grown to love and hate like Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, but the ferocious book worm too who wants to eat Zeke and Eppie and keep them locked in a book forever ...ABOUT THE AUTHORGretel has had a varied and exciting career. Apart from constantly writing for children she is a voice artist for radio, television and film, a writer/performer for Channel 9 Super Debates, a guest presenter for 2BL, a weekly comedy panelist for 2BL, weekly guest humorist for Regional ABC, has appeared in The Arena (Foxtel program) and Mouthing Off (TV pilot, ABC performer). Gretel's writing has appeared in Cleo, Sydney Morning Herald, Simply Living and Express magazine. Apart from her hugely popular My Sister's series, Gretel has written many other successful books including the new picture book from Random House, What'll we get for Grandma? Other books with Random House include the picture book Cherry Pie (1999 CBC Notable Book) and My Life is a Toilet (young adults). My Life is a Toilet is also published in Italy and Canada.My Sister's an Alien was performed at RMIT. Gretel has appeared at both the Sydney Writer's Festival and Somerset Literary Festival. Gretel was a wrtiter/performer/reporter for three years with The Midday Show, a writer/performer for Mike Walsh with the ABC and a writer/performer for the ABC's The Party Machine. She has appeared on Late Line (ABC), The Midday Show with Kerri-Anne, The Midday Show with Derryn Hinch, The Joint (Foxtel), Family Circle TV (Channel 10), 11am (Channel 7), Today Tonight (Channel 7) and The Big Gig (ABC). Her radio work includes the JJJ Breakfast Show, 2DayFM Breakfast, 2MMM Doug Mulray Breakfast Show and Radio National.Gretel has also dabbled in stand-up performance in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane. About the IllustratorsHaving practised strenuously at home upon all manner of forbidden surfaces (bedroom walls, their own arms and legs and each others faces), Zeke and Eppie, the hero and heroine of the My Sister series, emerge from the pages to illustrate this tale. While both prefer to draw themselves attractively and illustrate each other as blobs, the contributions of the real life Zeke and Eppie have intriguingly added a new dimensdion to the My Sister series as the lines between reality, imagination, character and fiction blur.SELLING POINTS* age 7+
