  One of the best books out on girls, guys, music - telling life as is it - with funny, sad parts, but ultimately about being who you are.
  
  It's 4 girls and the brother - the impact of fathers - including the psycho dad. OMG you've got to see the video clip of Psycho Dad by Tory Gervay - she wrote the songs that are part of the book. Check out Susanne's youtube channel:-

  This brought me to tears - it's on of the best insights into the human journey of Afghanistan. A boy could up in the tragedy of the Taliban, the destruction of their lives, the courage and love of family, cultural experiences and freedom - escape as a refugee. I loved it.

  I read I AM jack ages ago and it's special. Saw the play of I Am Jack at the theatre - fantastic.
  
  Jack's a real kid, his family is real, friends real. Bullying starts for no reason. Jack wins against bullying with the help of his Mum, Nanna, family, school, mates and himself. it's an important book.

  Some books are life changing. Always Jack is. It's funny, filled with kids and family, school and community.
  
  It's a kid's book but it's also for parents, adults, grandparents, everyone. You're laugh until you cry as Gervay gets into life - blending families, Nanna who's getting old and falls,the Vietnam War - but most importantly breast cancer - and she makes everything safe. it's OK to talk about cancer and the world becomes safe. Read it!
