Synopsis

The Runes of Odin has been written for motivated readers in first or second year secondary school. Although essentially a fantasy novel, complete with trolls and the magic of the runes, the details of the world created in the novel are based on Norse history and mythology. <br /> Two parallel stories of two young people, Lena and Callum, are brought together in an action-packed climax as the power of the runes that they both possess is unleashed. As part of the English Alive program, the novel has a number of accompanying worksheets, found in the English Alive Teacher Resource Book Phase 2, covering language, reading, thinking strategies, and an overview of the novel.
