S tiff is an oddly compelling, often hilarious exploration of the strange lives of our bodies postmortem. For two thousand years, cadavers--some willing, some unwittingly--have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. In this fascinating account, Mary Roach visits the good deeds of cadavers over the centuries and tells the engrossing story of our bodies when we are no longer with them.

This book was brought to my attention through the HBO series Six Feet Under. I didn't know quite what I was getting into with this great book nor did I anticipate it's effect on my life. Stiff answers questions we all may want to know the answers to as we go through life. Sometimes morbid, but definitely honest Mary Roach explores a world that most people don't want to talk or think about: what happens to my body when I die? Who knew there are so many options available. This goes way beyond donating your body to science. I thought this was a great book and would love to congratulate the author on a job well done. A job that I could never have done myself.
