With two interwining plots sixty years apart, I found this an excellent read. Tatiana de Rosnay has captured the atmosphere beautifully. Though she could not possibly know what it must have been like for a Jewish girl to be arrested and taken away from her family, she did an excellent job at writing from an omniscient perspective where she felt all the pain that has transpired.
