Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Ever heard that before? What comes after that first step? That question is often unanswered in the Evangelical church. We call people to conversion with dramatic words like transformation, rebirth, and redemption, but when the force of those words wears off and the last organ strains of Just As I Am have faded into the balcony, we quickly realize that there is more to this than a single step. Beyond the moment there is a movement. Beyond the decision there is a lifestyle. Beyond the crisis there is a Christ-walk. To use Biblical language, beyond the 'narrow gate' there is a 'narrow way'. How do we find that way and how do we walk on it? Those are the questions the church has done a poor job of answering for the newly converted. This book is for those people. This book is not about how to get saved - there are lots of those books. This book is not about step one, it's about Mile 1. This book is about how to move from the valley you got saved in to the elevated highway that leads to life. A highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not travel on it, but it shall be for God's people; no traveller, not even fools, shall go astray. (Isaiah 35:8, NRSV) That's the road we are looking for and that is what this book is about.

This book is a really good guidebook for new christians in your church. For conservative Evangelical churches, this is an awesome tool. Each section of the book outlines a sequential building process for integrating Christ into their lives. At the end of each "100 metres" are 10 Good Reasons why you should implement what the chapter discussed. It's an easy read, with a personal study and reflection section after each chapter, with a page for questions and notes. So it works well for group or individuals.
