Synopsis

This is a BBC Science radio series, 5 x 15 minutes, on the history of the mobile phone. This will be presented by Stephen Fry, who is well known for his love of gadgetry and the perfect presenter for this subject. This will be an entertaining history of the mobile phone that makes full use of the medium to convey the message - the listener will hear iconic ringtones, and be variously diverted and held in a queue.
